BRIEFS ABOUT THE CENTRE
Balm Comprehensive Vocational Training Centre was initiated, founded and financed by a renowned patriotic citizen of Katsina State and Nigeria in general in person of   Alhaji Sani Zangon-Daura (Dan-Masanin Daura). The Centre started its operation in November, 2007 with three (3) different trades which includes: Welding and Fabrication, Carpentry and Joinery and Domestic Installation.

Later, it was realized that these trades can only be undertaken by males, and there is need to have a trades for males’ counterpart (women). In realization of these, Tailoring and Knitting was introduced for females only. With global technological advancement, Computer application and Appreciation was also introduced, in order to go along with modern information technology.
Currently, Balm Centre is given free theoretical and practical skills on six different trades aforementioned.

PROBLEMS AND PROSPECTS
One of the problems faced by the Centre is inability of the government at all level to utilize this golden opportunity provided by the Proprietor in order to alleviate the high level of our unemployed youth. Much concern and consideration is not given to the centre despite the fact that a single individual has committed his large sum for this purpose which is one of the responsibilities of the government.

By and large, the prayer is success will come if not now but in the near future, looking at the level of nation’s insecurity and other challenges faced by the government.
